The role will be based in Kolkata, however as a result of the wide variety of clients and projects, you may be asked to work in other locations and beyond, sometimes at short notice and sometimes over lengthy periods of time. Your desire and ability to do this will be discussed as part of the recruitment process. Candidates who are unable or do not wish to work on projects in other locations will still be considered.

Role Description

Our data analysts are integral to our recent growth and success within our data management & engineering division. You will be working on high profile client projects by supporting our engagement teams with a variety of data analysis tasks and will help drive PwC’s continued success with the objective of discovering and leveraging useful information that can be used to support evidence based decision making. Our data analyst is expected to make recommendations about the methods and ways in which our engagement teams use and analyse data to improve quality and the usefulness of data systems. Key activities will include, but not be limited to:

Defining data requirements to support business issues / queries

Defining the process for how data will be captured and managed

Collecting and interpreting data

Analysing results

Identifying patterns and trends in datasets

Visualising the data to convey complex data sets into meaningful management information

Defining new data collection and analysis processes

The Data Analyst will be required to support engagement teams with a number of tasks, which are supported through various data collection, interrogation and visualisation activities.

As an Associate you will be able to resolve standard problems and common situations; you are competent at day-to-day application of the skill, and are able to present concepts, information and solutions. Will need to refer to an expert for non-standard issues and problems. Demonstrates good solid knowledge of the subject.

Key activities include, but not be limited to

Resolving issues regarding data quality, cleansing, integration and migration

Working as part of a data specialist team to deliver quality service to engagement client

Communicating with key stakeholders to define data requirements to support business issues / queries, including collecting, analysing, interpreting, and translating the result to non-technical stakeholders

Essential Requirements

1 – 2 years experience working as a data analyst in a corporate function

Knowledge and/or certifications demonstrating capability working with data models and reporting packages (ideally Power BI)

Ability to analyse large datasets

Ability to design and develop comprehensive reports

Strong verbal and written communication skills

An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving

Demonstrable experience of success within a range of complex project environments and sectors

Proven ability to integrate well into a team and build relationships with senior stakeholders

Proven analytical and skeptical mindset with an ability to develop solutions to technical problems

Experience using Azure and / or other cloud platforms

Additional skills / experience that will be beneficial

Previous experience working with clients in the UK or US

Undergraduate degree (e.g. BSc, BA)

Experience working with Agile methodologies.

Experience in Azure DevOps

Experience working with the Microsoft Azure cloud-based ecosystem.
