Job Description:
Mercedes Benz is seeking a skilled and experienced Operating System Engineer to join our team. As an Operating System Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the operating system environment, ensuring smooth operations and optimal performance.
Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and related software components
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform system diagnostics
Implement security measures and ensure compliance with established standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify system requirements and propose enhancements
Perform system upgrades and patch management
Conduct system audits and implement system backup and recovery procedures
Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools for system improvement
Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
Graduation in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Strong knowledge of operating systems such as Linux or Unix
Experience in system administration and maintenance
Proficiency in scripting languages like Shell or Python
Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
Knowledge of networking protocols and services
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Relevant certifications (e.g., RHCE, LPIC, or equivalent) will be a plus
